At present, the manufacture of composite materials (FRP) products still inevitably requires manual steps, such as the precise positioning of the position and orientation of the semi-finished fiber reinforced composite products to ensure the required structural stability and flexibility after lamination and curing. Eventually, this is a way for users to take full advantage of the benefits of FRP materials. To make manual positioning even easier, the Fraunhofer Institute for Product Technology in Aachen, Germany IPT) has developed practical software for commercial Augmented Reality (AR) glasses that can significantly improve the quality and performance of FRP products by indicating the correct positioning of semi-finished materials in a virtual position on the mold.
